Our research was recognized with the medac research prize!

Authored by Michael Richter
Our publication on a tRNA hypomodification influencing 5-fluorocytosine resistance, published in Nucleic Acids Research in 2024, was honored with the medac research prize!
Awarded annually by the Leibniz-HKI in partnership with the pharmaceutical company medac GmbH, this prize celebrates outstanding collaborative and interdisciplinary research that addresses complex questions in infection biology. Alongside three other groups at the HKI, we shared this esteemed prize.
Matt, alongside the first authors of this study, Alex and Valentina, graciously accepted the prize. This recognition motivates us to continue our quest in advancing fungal RNA biology in the context of infection.
Props to Valentina who presented a summary of the study at the ceremony and made us all proud.
